Worlds Info Announced
Hey everyone,
Just wanted to pass this info along to anyone who hasn't seen it yet. I will update later today with my thoughts on this info, but I wanted to get it out to everyone now.

Some highlights.
Date: Nov. 30-Dec. 2
Location: San Diego
Players may qualify through Constructed and Sealed ratings, Honor Rankings, and Nationals.
Prizes:
1st-$100,000
2nd-$25,000
3rd-4th-$10,000
5th-8th-$4,000
9th-16th-$2,000
17th-100th-$1,000

I'm happy to see that second place still gets a sizeable amount of money. I was afraid that it would drop down to something like $5k and then no money after the top 8. Even though there is a significant drop between 1st and 2nd, I think the prize payouts are very good.

Outside of first, the prizes are about half was I was hoping they would be (Outside the 1K prizes which sound be 1K after top 50). I am glad it's in California still (Cheaper for us Arizona guys). It looks like there is going to be a ton of people whom qualify though. Looks like there will be less stress to perform well at nationals with them counting each rating seperately and then of course, depending on how they handle Honor Rankings.
Any estimates on how you believe they will cut the ratings? Also, is it Constructed and Sealed, or Constructed or Sealed? Are they averaged?

I also find it interesting that the Worlds page is up before the Nationals page is.
